These terms apply to php2shell-checker.com, the free PHP2Shell checker and our optional paid patch-help service. They’re provided by PHP2Shell Checker (“we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected].
1. Information on this site
Our guides are written carefully from official advisories and vendor guidance, but security information changes quickly and every server is different. Content is provided “as is”, for general information, without any warranty that it is complete, current or suitable for your systems.
You are responsible for your own systems. Before making changes, take a backup, test where possible and follow your own change-management process.
2. The free checker
- The in-browser checker runs on your device; the command-line checker is open-source software licensed under Apache-2.0, and that licence governs its use.
- The checker is read-only. Its results are a version comparison, not a guarantee that a system is secure or insecure.
- Only check systems you own or are authorised to assess. You must not use this site or our tools to target systems without permission.
3. Patch-help service
Scope and authorisation
Before we start, we agree the scope in writing (which servers, what work, which maintenance window). You confirm in writing that you own or are authorised to administer every system in scope and that you can give us access to it. We won’t work on systems without that confirmation.
Your responsibilities
You provide timely access, keep a current backup or snapshot of affected systems, and tell us about anything unusual in your setup. You remove our access when the work is done, or ask us to remove it.
What we provide
We upgrade PHP to a fixed release (or your vendor’s patched package), restart the relevant services, verify the running version and send a short report. We may point out obvious signs of compromise we notice. The service is not a penetration test, a full security audit or incident response, and we don’t guarantee that a system is free of vulnerabilities or compromise.
Quotes and payment
Prices are shown on the patch help page. Before any work starts we send you a written quote with the final price (including any taxes) and the payment terms. Larger jobs are quoted individually. If you pay the priority response fee after the form (€49, €79 or €249), that fee is for an agent to contact you as soon as possible. It is not the final price of patch or complex work.
Cancellations
- Triage calls can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the call.
- Patch work can be cancelled at no cost any time before it starts.
- If we can’t complete the agreed work for a reason within our control, you aren’t charged for the part we didn’t do.
Consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts. If you ask us to start the service within that period, you agree to pay for work already performed, and you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the patch-help service is limited to the fees paid or payable for that service, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data where you didn’t keep backups. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
4. Advertising and third-party links
The site shows ads and links to third-party websites. We aren’t responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Ads don’t represent our recommendation.
5. Changes
We may update these terms. The version published on this page when you use the site or book a service applies.
6. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
